Portrait of Segundo, clarinet teacher

Hi, I’m Segundo.

I started music at age eight on classical guitar and fell in love with the clarinet a few years later. I studied at the Luis Gianneo Conservatory of Music in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where I earned my degree in Music Education and trained as a clarinetist.

Today I play clarinet in the Mar del Plata Municipal Symphonic Band, a symphonic orchestra and a jazz big band. I know firsthand what it takes to play well in an ensemble: listening, blending, counting and being ready when the conductor looks at your section. That’s exactly what I help band students with.

For six years I’ve taught clarinet online to students in the United States and around the world, many of them middle and high school band players preparing for chair tests, solo festivals and All-State auditions. I’ve also spent years as a session musician, recording clarinet remotely for artists and producers worldwide.

Beyond the clarinet

The same one-on-one approach, for students who want to go deeper into music.

Music theory & fundamentals

Scales, chords, rhythm and harmony explained clearly, so music makes sense instead of being memorized.

Musicianship & ear training

Sight-reading, rhythm reading and ear training: the skills that make every rehearsal easier.

Improvisation

Learn to improvise over chord changes, drawing on my experience playing in a jazz big band.

Guitar

Guitar lessons from first chords onward, built on classical training I started at age eight.

Questions parents ask

What does my child need for online lessons?

Their clarinet, a music stand, a laptop or tablet with a camera, and a quiet room. Headphones are not needed. I send a short setup guide before the first lesson.

How do time zones work?

The booking calendar shows my availability automatically converted to your local time, so you simply pick a slot that works for you.

Can parents sit in on lessons?

Always. Parents are welcome to watch any lesson, and all messages about scheduling go to the parent.

Do you help with All-State and region auditions?

Yes. I have years of experience preparing students for All-State and region auditions, including etudes, scales and sight-reading.

How much is the first lesson?

New students get 50% off their first 30-minute lesson. It is a real lesson: I hear your child play, we work on something useful right away and plan the next steps together.

How do I pay?

Payments are made through PayPal, in US dollars, before the lesson or at the start of each month.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can reschedule any lesson free of charge if you let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons canceled with less notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full.

Ready for the next chair?

Your first 30-minute lesson is 50% off. We’ll meet, hear your child play and plan the first month together. Times are shown in your own time zone.
